BLOOM FESTIVAL
Visual Identity with Creative Coding for Science & Nature Festival
Poster Design, Sticker Design, T-Shirt Design, Tote and other Merchandise Design.
Bloom is a science and nature festival that brings together workshops, talks, art installations, music, and food, all centered on themes of science and the natural world (www.bloom.ooo).
For a personal assignment, I developed Bloom’s visual identity through creative coding using Processing. The concept was to design a generative system capable of producing multiple variations of an abstract illustration—forms that can be interpreted as organic structures, tree canopies, topographic landscapes or entirely personal associations.
The code is designed to be interactive and flexible: specific keyboard inputs allow the user to adjust parameters such as sharpness, density, and stroke weight, making it easy to explore a wide range of visual outcomes. When a compelling composition emerges, pressing the “s” key captures and saves that exact moment, preserving a unique iteration of the generative design.
The goal is to further the public’s general interest in science, to stimulate this interest among young people and children, and to set the agenda in Danish science communication.
"Bloom presents some of the brightest researchers, scientists, philosophers, thinkers, and artists of our time. Everything takes place in a participative, recreational, and sensory setting, where concerts, food, art installations, an open laboratory, and other breathing spaces seduce and captivate."
